The company's name was created using my own middle name reversed and centered between the first initial of my first and last names: Marlene Marie Archie.

Meirama was established in November 2015 with the publication of Yearning, a short story collection. It was established in response to a desire to expand publications, and take writing as a hobby to the business level. Also, in response to a perceived need for more books that entertain while informing cultural awareness, and enhancing knowledge of African American issues in the African Diaspora, Meirama was found. It is an independent business with Marlene Archie as sole proprietor.

READ NOW! The latest addition to the Meriama Book Collection: Swallow

Swallow In twentieth century Philadelphia, the merciful act of two unlikely friends was a response to an economic and social structure not of their making; they did what countless others have done when embroiled in the throes of crack addiction misery that made life untenable—what other professionals and laypeople looking for a way out of the madness of it all, have habitually done, they surrendered. Swallow illuminates the life of a black woman who abetted by a white lawyer challenges authority, takes matters into her own hands, and comes to terms with the harsh realities of urban life.
